Today at work, I found out some of the reasons I am so blessed for starting my new job on Monday.

I’m not going to get into specifics, because seriously? I’m not a hateful person and I won’t blast them online for 100’s of people they don’t know to read.

Even though I’ve never identified any of the people I work for, I’m sure anyone in the area would know who I was talking about. That’s how small the community in Lexington really is.

One of my co-workers was sick today. She was throwing up AT her desk, IN her trash can. Earlier in the month, her supervisor had told her she needed to stop taking so much time off. WTH? She had taken a few days off to take her mother-in-law to the hospital for some medical procedures. And they told her she was taking too much time off work. Huh.

Today? Her supervisor would NOT let her go home. He sat in that office listening to her puke her guts out. I kept encouraging her to just get up and walk the fuck out.

She finally got to leave when MY supervisor saw her puking and told her to leave. He’s the BIG boss over the other supervisor so he has final say.

Earlier in the day, when she was puking a lot, I spoke to her supervisor and told him she shouldn’t even have come in. His response? “Oh yes she should have.” I looked at him all crazy like and said “Maybe you should show some compassion and let her go home?” His response was typical. He walked away. That’s right. Turned on his heal and walked away from me.

I almost lost my shit. I bit my tongue and started angrily twittering and changing my status on Facebook.

Each day and sometimes each hour, I am shown the blessings in my decision of taking the FD job over this job. Seriously.

Until next time…

I am sooo very glad you won’t be working for that company much longer. They don’t sound like good people.

That is disgusting! I would quit if my bosses treated me like that. I have too much pride for that.

I’m so glad you’re moving on and away from there.

Wow, I can’t believe her boss treated her that way. If that was me, I would have found a reason to go into the supervisor’s office and puke in HIS trash barrel, so he could be miserable too. What a douche.

Gratz on the new job - mmmmm…. looking at fit yummeh men all day - there are definitely worse ways to spend a day at work…
