Alright.  Last week when I agreed to sit with the Owner about this job offer he wanted to give me, I stopped doing the countdown of how many days I have left to drive 75 miles one way!

Today?  The countdown begins again.  I have four more days that I have to travel 75 miles one way to work.  Four more days of driving a total of 150 miles to and from work.  Four more days. 

After sleeping on my decision, I know I’m making the right choice.  It feels good.  On Todd’s birthday, I’ll be going to my orientation for the FD job.  I’ll sign up for the medical insurance, whatever type of retirement they have, most likely a 401k or a deferred comp program.   I’ll get my personnel number assigned to me and I’ll find out my exact schedule. 

Although the letter I got said I’d be working 8am to 4pm, I realized there were no days listed there.  I’m fairly certain I was told it is Monday thru Friday with an ocassional Saturday or Sunday in there to complete payroll.   If I can help it?  I’ll complete the payroll stuff before the weekend, so I don’t have to work on a weekend.  LOL  However, any weekend I work will be overtime.

Is anyone else obsessively checking their bank accounts for the tax stimulus check? I’m checking in the mornings and then again in the evenings. I need that money! I got some bills to pay! I also need to make sure I have money to last the first week or two at the FD cause I won’t get paid right away. Which will hurt me even more financially, but I’m sure I’ll be OK.

I have also been looking for a gold chain for the gold cross I was given the day of my baptism.  Once I get settled into this job, I’ll keep looking and I’m sure I can find something.

I now need to go get ready for work.  I’m exhausted.  I got to sleep at around 11pm, woke up with a pounding headache at 2am and wandered the apartment for a bit.  I went back to sleep and then woke up at 6:11, right before my 2nd alarm went off.  I got outta bed and here I sit. 

While I’m not feeling like going to work, I’m going to go with bells on.  Seriously.  This is the LAST Tuesday I will have to make this drive.  This is thrilling to me!
