Post title from Best of You by Foo Fighters

First, let me say Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the other moms out there.  I called my mommy this morning to say just that too.

I just got home from my weekend in Indy/Detroit/Plymouth.   Thursday after work, I raced home, finished packing a few things and threw it all in the car.  Neatly, of course.   I then headed up north to Miss Monique’s.

I arrived at her place at about 9pm.  There was a crazy guy across the street walking his monster of a dog and he actually had to put the dog between his legs to hold him back from running across the street and eating one of my furbabies.   I told Miss Monique that I would kick the crap out of the dog if it came near us.  I was ready for a fight!

Chloe and Josie were out of their element on Thursday evening, so we both woke up a little stabby and cranky Friday morning before heading towards Michigan.   Once we got some breakfast and coffee, we were in much better moods.

We arrived at her family’s house around 4pm or so.  I could be wrong on the times LOL.  We then went to dinner at a Chinese place that was just YUMMEH.  I had the Mongolian Garlic Triple Super hot and spicy meal.  It had shrimp, chicken and beef in it.  It was loaded with garlic and spices.  YUM!

Saturday morning we went to a little crafty store type place with Miss Monique’s mom, which BTW, I can TOTALLY see where she gets her snarkiness from LOL.  I PPH’d her mom.  Actually, I really liked her whole family.  Mommy Monique loved on the girls something fierce.  We wore them out on Friday evening/afternoon.   I walked them, she walked them and then they slept like logs Friday night LOL.

Saturday afternoon, we went back to the abode so we could get ready for the Yankees/Tigers game.  The game started at 3:40pm and I (being the Yankee dork that I am) wanted to get there a little early so I could see their batting and field practice.

The seats were worse than I had thought when looking on the seating chart online.  *le sigh*   Actually, I thought they kinda sucked.  However, to save the day of the sucky seating, we had a group of 8 people in front of us.  One provided some SERIOUS eye candy.  He was yummeh to look at.  There were four women and four men.  Yeah, they were married to each other.  Even the eye candy was taken.  *le sigh*  Owell, I looked at him anyway.

We then found that our seats were DIRECTLY in the sunlight.  Sun right in our face.  Oh.my.fuck.   I told Miss Monique and her friend J that as long as we got to see the 4th inning, I was good if they wanted to leave.   It was kind of miserable sitting there in the sun.  Good thing I had taken some 30 spf sunscreen.  OH my.  I’m sunburned on my arms, chest and face.  And YES, I used the sunscreen.

I lasted until the 6th inning, when I’d finally had enough and asked them if they wanted to leave.  We went downstairs, used the restroom, J and I smoked a cigarette and then we headed back to the car.  It was 5 to 1 already, so I figured I could watch the rest of the game on my phone.   I did and of course, the Yankees won!  WHEEEEE

We got back to her mom’s house after dropping J off fairly early, and just kind of plopped onto the chair or couch.  We ate some of our leftovers and then watched some cheesy Sci-Fi channel movie with Ian Ziering from 90210 playing Cortez.  LOL  It was quite the cheesiest movie I’ve seen in awhile.  It was entertaining though, I do have to say that.

Josie and Chloe didn’t let Miss Monique sleep much last night, they were jumping between the air mattress where I was and the futon where she was.  They had me up and walking them at 6:30 or 7am this morning.  After walking them, I laid on the couch downstairs and slept until my alarm went off at 8 (which was about half an hour) and then called my mommy.

We then went to breakfast with Mommy and Daddy Monique and then headed back south.  We got to Miss Monique’s place and transferred all my stuff, including the dogs, into my car and then I headed back here to the Ville.  It rained the entire way.

As I got closer to the Ville, the wind really picked up and it was hard to handle the car.  It could have been that difficult cause I was getting sleepy and I was/am exhausted from the weekend whirlwind trip.

I had a great time each day, even when we woke up stabby and cranky.   I do have to say though, in Detroit?  Don’t travel by yourself.  Make sure you are in a group of people.  Always.  Frightening place.  Seriously.  I think I’d rather get lost in the Bronx or Harlem.

I took lots of pictures, and will be starting the downlaods soon.  I promise!

Until next time….
