My first official day of unemployment

I woke up today….unemployed for the first time in 25 years. Holy cow! What am I going to do with myself? Today wasn’t too hard to keep busy, this would have been just my regular day off, since I was off every payday anyway.

I also woke up today with a pounding headache that went into my neck. OY. I woke up at 5am to let the girls out to go potty and took some aspirin to try to help. I went back to bed and slept for two hours. The aspirin didn’t work. I then tried a shower (the humidity) and some sudafed sinus headache stuff. That eased it quite a bit and so I went to the bank and the grocery store.

By the time I got home, the headache was back on in full rage and so I took some ibuprofen and took a 3 hour nap. The headache was gone until I stood up. It’s not that bad right now, as I’m sitting here watching the Yankees game.

All this got me to thinking about the pain in my hands I feel on a daily basis. On a scale of 1 to 10, my hands are generally (on a good day) level at a 5 or 6. On a bad day, they are over the top. Since my pain is similar to arthritis pain, I’ve taken medications to relieve it. I saw this website for osteoarthritis relief and I am very intrigued! I may have to order some of that to see if it helps with my hands.

My hand specialists told me all the time how similar my symptoms are to those of OA and RA, so I’m thinking something that is to relieve either of those, may work on my hands.

The specialists also always told me that if I want the CTS and the tendinitis to go away to stop what I’m doing for at least 6 weeks and the symptoms would be relieved. Well here we are, isn’t that fortuitous? OK, that’s my usage of a big word today.

I was supposed to go to the 50th birthday party for GA tonight, but my head is pounding so much I’m nauseous and I just can’t see myself trying to go to that. My head would explode. Or my stomach would and I’d puke everywhere.

Off to watch the Yankees/Red Sox game. See if I get me some bragging rights against Mr. Fab for awhile!

Until next time…

Sinuses are a bitch. I e-mailed you some suggestions for when you move to the midwest. I like saying fortuitous. It’s fun. :D

Not yet. Seventh inning stretch right now.

    I’m thinking of ya ;)

Monique: Yes they are. Hate them very much. LOL Fortuitous is a great word!

Mr. Fab: A lot can change between the 7th and the 9th innings. Especially like scoring 6 times in the 8th inning. Hmph. I’m thinking of you too :D

Headaches suck. I’ll get ones that go on for days, and then disappear for weeks.
Nice with the gift certificate! WOOT! We don’t have that fun store here. Bummer.
