We were away at the time. There were branches and bark and bits of tree spread out for blocks. A neighbor was taking a pie out of the oven when the BOOM came and she flipped the pie right over it was that loud. That is what happens oh the tree - never had a chance. I really think it was a fluke I got the shot of the lightning. I just stood there and kept hitting the button on the camera, hoping I'd get a bolt of lightning in there. I lucked out.
