[...] The Soda Stand » Some more pictures from this morning Right place, right time, right camera (third pic down) (tags: lightning storm rain weather) [...]
With all the storms and lighting flashes in Texas, you would think it to be easy to capture one on camera, nope. Havent even gut lucky. But hte chase still goes on!
Makes you wonder what or who that lightning hit, doesn’t it?!
Amazing shot!
I really love the last one, I never have the patience to catch a lightning picture.
thanks everyone! I really think it was a fluke I got the shot of the lightning. I just stood there and kept hitting the button on the camera, hoping I’d get a bolt of lightning in there. I lucked out. It’s never happened before. It may never happen again, but damn it was sooooo exciting!!! hahaha
Very impressive and beautiful shot. And clear! Was that in your YARD?? Heehee. Would be cool to go over there and take an “after” shot of the burnt hole in the ground.
A 200 hundred year old oak tree in our yard was hit by lightining years ago. We were away at the time. There were branches and bark and bits of tree spread out for blocks. A neighbor was taking a pie out of the oven when the BOOM came and she flipped the pie right over it was that loud.
That is what happens oh the tree – never had a chance. Kind of sad. oh well. http://www.what-a-world.com
